Knotts Berry Farm Park is situated in Buena Park, California. The park has 40 rides which include children’s area, roller coasters, water rides and fun for all the family.
The site was originally a berry farm which is how it got its name and evolved over the years from the family selling berries and chicken dinners to them building attractions in 1968. When the parents Walter and Cordelia died during the 90’s the park was sold to Cedar Fair who started to add more rides and expand it to make it into a theme park.
Knotts Berry Farm has various opening hours which range from 10 AM – 11 PM depending on which month of the year it is. If you are planning a visit it would be advisable to check the website for the correct opening times.
There is a range of ticket prices that can be purchased a daily ticket price is $75 for an adult and children 12 and under will pay $45. If you are going to be visiting regularly a season ticket pass may be a good buy and these range from $91 to $210. A six months’ payment plan can be arranged to pay for it. A season pass can be beneficial as it will give you unlimited access and a range of discounts. Add-ons can be purchased alongside a pass for dining and parking options. You can save by purchasing online and receive a discount for some tickets. Reductions are available for groups, military personnel and if you have a promotional code. A Fast Lane pass will cost $70 and entitle you to priority on some rides. If you do not have a season pass, then a car parking charge of $18 will need to be paid.
If you are planning on visiting the park and wish to stay in the area there is a good selection of hotels nearby but the park also has its own on-site. The Knotts Berry Farm hotel will also include the cost of an admission ticket in the price of a room and has its own restaurant and bar Amber Waves.
There are some new attractions for 2017 which include the Sol Spin which will send you in all directions from one of the spinning arms. There is an expansion of days to the popular Knotts Boysenberry Festival where you will be able to sample food, drink and be entertained. Ghost Town Alive an interactive experience for all the family will help celebrate the fact that it is the 75th anniversary of Ghost Town. There is an expansion of the Knotts Soak City Waterpark with new slides, Shore Break will launch you into the air whilst you go through loops and curves and The Wedge a family raft ride.
Many of the rides in the park are suitable for families and those with older children which include The Timber Mountain Log where you will travel around a waterway and then fall down a flume. Ride in the gold mine on the Calico Mine an ore car. Calico railroad a narrow-gauge rail trip around the park. There are the more popular and traditional rides like bumper cars, Ferris wheel and merry go round.
If your children are younger and cannot go on the bigger rides due to height restrictions there is a selection of rides and daily shows to keep them amused which include a launcher, flying plane, river run, a mini rail trip and a child’s version of the Supreme Scream. Daily shows that feature Charlie Brown and friends in the Snoopy Camp Theatre, the Frontier Feats Wild West Show and the music and dance of the Native American Tribe.
For those who want more excitement and thrills you have a choice of eight roller coaster rides to include the Jaguar which takes you on a journey high above and through the rest of park rides, The Boomerang which takes you forwards and backwards and turns you six times in a loop. The Silver Bullet that will drop you 109 feet after you have climbed 146 feet into the air. The La Revolution which will swing you 64 feet into the air and you should try the Supreme Scream which will take only three seconds to drop you 252 feet.
There are a variety of dining options situated around the park which includes traditional and familiar chains like Starbucks and TGI Fridays which can be found in the Market Place. Themed restaurants suitable for all ages like Camp Snoopy and Boardwalk Dining together with a variety of food to suit all tastes you will never go hungry. An option to purchase the original jams and preserves that have been made by the Knott family since 1920 and novelties and souvenirs in the shops around the complex so you can take home a memory of the day.
